Today was the beginning of a very long process for Paiger and the excitement quickly ended. Her spacers were placed today and the "joy" was gone...I did not have spacers so I had NO IDEA it would be painful. Looking at the bands it seemed harmless until they shoved them between her teeth at 3 different locations. She was thankful she lost a tooth last week and only got the 3 instead of 4. She was a trooper though and I did not know she was in pain or that it hurt until later on. She had ice cream for dinner so that helped :-) Next Tues. will be a long visit for her as she will be getting the bar on her bottom teeth and the headgear. She said she is just ready to get it over with and is going to wear it 24/7 so she can get rid of it sooner lol...She was very EMBARASSED b/c I took the camera and made her take pictures!! I told her someday she will be thankful I took pictures so that she can remember her journey :-)

DR. RIPPLINGER EXPLAINING TO PAIGE WHAT SHE IS DOING
TELLING PAIGE NOT TO WORRY IF ONE OF THEM FALLS OUT OR IF SHE SWALLOWS ONE OF THEM. SHE ASSURED PAIGE THAT IF SHE SWALLOWED IT SHE WOULD GET IT BACK BUT NOT TO BRING IT INTO HER LOL

Ugh. I remember spacers. Kind of an ouchy/itchy something is stuck in my teeth feeling. This to shall pass and she'll be glad in the long run. I feel for you Paige!
I remember spacers too...like you have a HUGE piece of meat stuck between your teeth. Luckily they're not too bad. They start you out with the easy stuff. I will be praying for you Paige!
